Mastertone Dulcimers are the result of over 40 years of dulcimer building experience. Jim and Brenda Good build every dulcimer in their workshop, located in a little valley near Walton, WV, about 35 miles north of Charleston, WV. They use only quality materials, and each Mastertone dulcimer has a flat peghead and Grover tuners that will please the serious dulcimer player.
Jim likes to tweak the traditional hourglass sound box, and has developed a unique dulcimer style with an arched top and bottom, carved out of a solid wood slab, the same way a violin is made. This design results in some of the best volume and timbre you will hear from any dulcimer!
